Dear Mr Nick Jones,

I am Chen Xingzhu from Hwa Chong Institution. My English teacher told us to write this letter to you. I was shocked when I hear the news of the devastating earthquake in Japan.  Thus, I am writing this letter to encourage you to be more optimistic. I totally sympathize with you and your country.

Although the tsunami had knocked out all sources of power at the plant meaning that the reactor cores couldn't be kept cool. The Internet was quickly awash with speculation and worse-case scenarios. Even though you was affected by the earthquake zone, but I am relieved to hear that you are safe and sound After this surviving this disaster, you would probably feel very worried of your family, and how you would continue to cope with your new lifestyle. Instead of looking at the devastation around you, you should be thankful that you had managed to survive.

I give you my greatest condolences and hope that you can continue to live happily. I also hope that Japan can recover from the disaster and be strong again.

Yours Sincerely,
Xingzhu
